Pumpkin Regatta (or however you spell it)

Okay, so I know that this is totally backtracking but I came across these pictures and felt that they were definitely blog-worthy and wanted to share. There is a little lake by our house and apparently they have started this wonderful tradition of racing 500 - 1000 pound pumpkins across it each year at Halloween time. What could be better, seriously. It was so much fun and the girls couldn't believe that people were really going to get in the pumpkins. They load them onto the lake with a forklift and then carve a hole big enough for them to climb in. These are pretty big men that have grown these pumpkins on their own farms. It was something!

Thanks for commenting! I'll add you to my links so I don't have to do my "search" through blogs every time. The pumpkin thing definitely looks interesting. I can't get over how "Wilkinson" Abby is. I see it in Emma, too, but not as much. I should add to my highlights of Christmas when I watched you guys skid to a stop! It was good to see you!

Cool! We sure miss you guys. McKenna is obsessed over your Christmas picture and asks to "fly to see Emma and Abby" everyday. Seriously, every day. I actually had to take it down one night since she gets upset when I can't guarantee that we will be hopping on a plane the next day, so I will not be mentioning Emma's birthday to her, sorry. We love you anyway! Keep in touch!

That is CRAZY! I kinda want to try it :)
So I just checked out your profile and you are apparently into the field of accounting...
I'm laughing but part of me is wondering if maybe you were serious and there is something I don't know about you!??

That's so funny Laura, I just went and looked and apparently I am. I guess if you don't select one then Accounting it is. How could I have kept that a secret from you for all those years :)

Very cool! That was impressive. The pictures of the girls are really cute. Abby looks like she is a very good big sister.

I am definitely coming to watch this event this Halloween. Abby and Emma, you need to plant an pumpkin patch so that your dad can join the race. I love the Emma comment about not wanting to be a mommy. I distinctly remember a little blonde girl, just like her, say the same thing about 25 years ago. She is more like you all the time.

Yikes, I'm not sure I would want to float down a river in a giant pumpkin! Looks like fun to watch, though.
